I was lucky enough to get two new Blu-rays for Christmas, both of which are top notch titles. Perhaps these two, more than anything, represent the eclectic nature of my collection.
The first was from Marie, and is The Voyage of the Dawn Treader 3D :

I was really chuffed with this as anyone who knows me will know that I am a HUGE Narnia fan. I adored the original, and although the second one was disappointing I really hoped that the third would restore the series to glory. It didn’t, of course, but it was still a very solid entry. Sadly – as I no longer get unlimited free blu-rays this was a title I had to skip when it was released. Thankfully, an all singing, all dancing 3D edition was re-released a few weeks ago and as I now have a 3D setup it went on my Christmas list. I suspected it might not sell too well and the fact that it is now unavailable anywhere suggests this might be the case. But at least it’s now in my collection….
The second title was something I can’t wait to see – Fiddler on the Roof 40th anniversary edition :

I hadn’t read up about this much as I knew it was coming for Christmas courtesy of Rosie and Micah. So to see it was fully remastered, with DTS-HD MA 7.1 sound was a revelation. Also the extras look absolutely fascinating including a brand new song never before seen, and a full colour version of the scary dream sequence. This one will be watched on Boxing Day with Dad,
