This site suddenly appeared on the internet to not exactly feverish speculation. However, I for one am excited because I am fairly sure what it will be. I am absolutely, 100% not interested in any convention or anything like that — but as these are never trailed with such alacrity I cannot believe it will be that.
Star Trek : The Experience ran for nearly a decade in Las Vegas and featured a combination of some of the original Star Trek : The Exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum (which I saw) and a state of the art theme park ride. This was decomissioned in 2008 but recently negotiations have been ongoing by Paramount / CBS to bring it back. and they stated that they hoped it would surface in 2012. They were expecting it to come back in Las Vegas but my suspicion is they have found a new home for it in London. I don’t know if there’s free space at The O2 but this would seem to be the most likely venue to me.
In a world where money is made by forcing you to buy tickets months in advance whatever it is cannot be too long away from being announced. If it’s something anal and sad I wont be interested. But if it’s “The Experience” I will be there IN SPADES.
