Spellathon – introduction

I have signed up to take part in spellathon - a global spelling event involving Stephen Fry in aid of the charity Mencap.  Basically you download an app for your phone, and you pledge to spell a certain number of words correctly. In my case it is 2000 words by March 2012.  You then play games on the computer trying to build up chains of spelt words, or other games based around spelling.  In the game there is a database of 25,000 of the most difficult words in the dictionary to spell.

If you want to take part then there are selections for Primary, Secondary, University, and Adult.  Be warned, the adult section certainly is not easy.

I shall keep you updated via this website on how close I am to my target.  Today – I am on 31.  I would be so grateful if you could sponsor me.  Every pound sponsored counts – I know there isn’t much money around at the moment but it doesn’t need to be a huge amount.  My just giving page is here.  Many thanks in advance.
