On my way to the match today, I popped in and slapped £50 down on a preorder of a PS Vita. The machine may have failed dismally in Japan, shifting less that a quarter of the units that the 3DS did – but I just cannot help thinking that a machine that packs this much in to such a package is easily going to be worth a tech geek owning.
The machine has a 5 inch OLED capacitive touch screen, rear touch pad, dual analogue sticks, the usual buttons – and it looks like it just might be the machine that will finally combine core and fun gaming into one package in the way that no machine has yet achieved. Over the coming weeks I will look more at the machine, and the games – the ones I have preordered are Wipeout 2048, Everybody’s Golf, and Ridge Racer Vita.
