Howson agrees personal terms

Just days after saying that they wouldn’t sign anyone, Lambert would appear to have closed in on a signing that some are saying could be the coup of the window.  Jonny Howson from Leeds has agreed personal terms, and the clubs have agreed a fee.  It now just depends on a medical.  As he has a knee injury the medical could scupper things, but at the moment it would appear to be all systems go.

I don’t really know that much about him to be honest.  I have seen Leeds play four times at Carrow Road recently, but I don’t remember him standing out as a particularly good player.  But then I wouldn’t necessarily have focussed on him if I wasn’t pre-warned to do so.  What I do know is that there is not a single dissenting voice about this transfer – with knowledgeable people saying he is a fantasic player.  But with Fox, Hoolahan, Crofts, Pilkington, Bennett and many others already in midfield it’s starting to look pretty crowded.

It will be interesting to see where Howson will fit in.
